Looking to obtain a Canadian Golden Visa? The Canadian investment residency programme is called the Quebec Individual Investors Programme, or QIIP, for short. (It is often also erroneously referred to as the Quebec IIP programme or the Canada QIIP, even though it is not a federal immigration programme.) Find out more below, or contact us now to schedule a free consultation.
About the QIIP Visa Programme
The Quebec Investor Program replaced Canada’s federal Immigrant Investor Program around a decade ago, yet it shares many of the objectives of its federal predecessor: Quebec seeks to attract immigrant investors who can significantly contribute to the local economy.
The program features a limited annual intake quota, and is known for stringent due diligence and high admission requirements. For starters, prospective applicants must have a legitimately acquired net worth of no less than CAN $2 million. In addition, applicants are required to extend an interest free loan of no less than CAN $1.2 million to the Canadian government for a period of 5 years.
Alternatively, the need to make this investment can be avoided by contributing a non-refundable CAN$320,000 in brokerage and related financing fees.
